Mission

Torah study for women must be conducted seriously, intellectually, and analytically.

It is MMY's conviction that through intensive textual study, with a major emphasis on Beit Medrash preparation, students will develop a foundation for in-depth textual learning. It is also MMY’s firm belief that the purpose of all learning must be to inspire and develop genuine religious growth. As a Religious Zionist school, MMY emphasizes the absolute centrality of both Eretz Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael.  MMY prides itself on creating an environment of openness, warmth, and connection. The relationships students form with the faculty, and with each other, are ongoing. It is through this balance that we strive for excellence in producing the next leaders of Klal Yisrael.

Learn

Torah an a very high level

MMY students are a select and diverse group of Bnot Torah who come together for a year of intense Torah study. Our learning centers around the vibrant Beit Medrash, learning b’chavruta, and confronting Torah texts directly. Classes are generally taught in 2-hour blocks, with half the class devoted to chavruta preparation. Learning is personalized through the ample options of classes in each time slot, allowing each student to build her own schedule.

At MMY, students are taught not only how to learn, but also how to think. No one form of religious expression is right for everyone. We teach and discuss the principle that each person needs to grow at her own pace and in her own way, within the confines of Torah and Halacha. We therefore encourage students to expand their thinking through various opportunities both inside and out of the Beit Medrash.

Spiritual Growth

A main principle of MMY is all learning needs to inspire and help develop genuine religious growth. This is accomplished through our tiyulim, shabbatonim and other informal learning programs. In addition, our highly dedicated and diverse staff is available outside the classroom on a daily basis to help shape our students and assure their spiritual growth and wellbeing are cared for.

At MMY we firmly believe both Eretz Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael must be central in the life of every Jew. Making Aliyah and being involved in the needs of Am Yisrael are stressed as essential components in Avodat Hashem. For this reason we make exploring the land and its people part of our educational philosophy and curriculum.

At MMY we pride ourselves in the nearly 2,000 students who have made MMY their home.

Each student develops and matures in a unique way during her seminary years. Every MMYer knows that a connection to MMY is everlasting; it doesn’t end with the closing of the school year. MMY is dedicated to staying connected with our talmidot beyond their stay at MMY. Our Alumnae Department works tirelessly arranging various alumnae events including shabbatonim, shiurim and tiyulim. Faculty members aim to keep in touch with alumnae, and we hope our talmidot know they always have a teacher just a phone call away. MMY is a seminary with a serious learning environment but also a family; caring for talmidot beyond the walls of the Beit Medrash.
